Egyptian cornice
Also called:
- Egyptian gorge
- Cavetto cornice, a type of
- Gorge-and-roll cornice
- Gorge cornice
The characteristic cornice of most Egyptian buildings, consisting of a large cavetto molding decorated with vertical leaves, and a roll molding below
Cavetto: round concave molding continuing at least a quarter circle.
Roll molding: any convex, rounded molding, which has (wholly or in part) a cylindrical form
