Around 1909, Rumsey began a series of sculptures to decorate the large manor at Arden, New York, being built by the railroad magnate, Edward H. Harriman. (Harriman's daughter, Mary, married Rumsey in 1910.) One of the sculptures was a large limestone relief of a Plains Indian hunting a Buffalo which was placed above the fireplace of the Music Room.
