"Charles H. Niehaus (Sculptor)             Gorham Manufacturing Co. (Founder)                 1902                 Bronze Statue on Engraved White Marble Base                 5' height / 3' width / 4' depth                
"Lincoln is seated with his proper left leg crossed over his proper right leg.  He holds the Emancipation Proclamation in his hands.                  
"This statue is a replica of the statue located in Muskegon, Michigan by the same sculptor."

The Lincoln statue was originally located in the State Court  
             It was commissioned by the Lincoln Birthday Association founded by and in honor of Buffalonian Julius E. Francis
