The former residence of Bavarian kings has housed a museum since 1920.

The Wittelsbachs built a fortress in the 14th century which was reconstructed in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The 130 rooms of the Residence have been filled with furniture and oil paintings, tapestries and porcelain from the best artists of their time.
