Lucy Ann was the wife of Mayor Hiram Barton, who was mayor during 1849-50; 1852-53. They were married in 1840, and had two daughters.

They resided at one time at 195 Franklin St., Buffalo, NY.

Mrs. Barton was an active citizen in the community. She was a member of the "Old Settlers Society" and one time President of the Society. She also served as President of the Unitarian Aid Society which sent the first bag of clothing that was received at Washington, D.C. during the Civil War for wounded soldiers.
