Larry Bell Monument
Lawrence Dale ("Larry") Bell (1894-1956) made monumental accomplishments during his lifetime, most of them in the science of flight.
He founded Bell Aircraft Corporation in 1935 and made aviation history. The company designed and built the first plane to break the sound barrier, the first jet plane, the first commercially licensed helicopter, and the first plane that could sweep its wings back in flight.
His elegant monument incorporates a bronze sculpture that suggests a wing of flight.
