Date of Death: 12/24/1998Mrs. Scherbatow was born 12/14/1915 and died on 12/24/1998 in Manhattan.
This is the location of her husband, Prince Kyril Scherbatow, godson of Czar Nicholas II. He was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, 11/25/1902. He escaped Russia in 1919 with his parents, Prince Paul Scherbatow and Princess Anna Briatinsky Scherbatow. He moved to the United States in 1932.
Formerly, Morton and Lucile Palmer owned this sarcophagus. Mr. & Mrs. Palmer were divorced and Mr. Palmer relinquished all rights to the memorial. Mrs. Palmer married Mr. Scherbatow. Thus the name change.
Prince Scherbatow and Lucille Forman of Buffalo were married in 1971 and lived most of their years in Manhattan. It is interesting to note that Lucile, a local girl, has emblazoned "Princess" above her name on the sarcophagus.
