Dr. Charles R. Drew Science Magnet Elementary School
1 Martin Luther King Jr. Park, Buffalo, NY

Since its erection in 1929, the Buffalo Museum of Science witnessed several renovations and the attachment in 1990 of the Dr. Charles R. Drew Science Magnet Elementary School in a multi-story addition. The school serves more than 1,100 students and offers specialized science education in the Museum. It may have been the first museum in the nation to have an elementary school both physically and programmatically linked.
