The Ford / Trico/ Tri-Main Building can be seen in the left background. Both Ford and Pierce-Arrow chose this location, in large part, because of the Belt Line railroad which ran between the two buildings

During W.W.II, the Bell Aircraft Co. developed the first jet plane on the top floor of the Ford plant. The first leg of its destination for testing in California was on the Belt Line. Propellers were temporarily attached to the jet in a bid for secrecy.
