Dr. Pierce's World's Dispensary, 1880 Prospect Avenue Also known as Dr. Pierce's Palace Hotel, this fabulous confection of a sanitarium was completed April 30, 1878, and burned to the ground on Feb. 16, 1881. Location: Fronted Prospect and occupied the entire block bounded by Prospect, Connecticut, Fargo and Porter. Dr. Pierce also had a facility in London. Architect: Richard A.
