The Old Theatre (Teatr Stary) is the oldest theatrical building in Poland. It opened in 1798 and has since been rebuilt twice -- most recently between 1903 and 1905, when it was remodeled by Franciszek Maczynski and Tadeusz Stryjenski in the Art Nouveau style. The frieze on the façade is by Jozef Gardecki (1880-1952), executed between 1903-06,
