"Imagining Buffalo Niagara in the 21st Century"
Sherra Babcock, Director, Education Department, Chautauqua Institution,
presented an overview of both Chautauqua and its various educational
venues. These include, The Lecture Platform, The Chautauqua Literary
& Scientific Circle, Special Studies, Writers' Center, Smith
Memorial Library, Oliver Archives Center, and Cohen Recording Studio.
Education is one of the four pillars that have defined Chautauqua since
its inception in 1874. The other three pillars are Art, Religion, and
Recreation.
This presentation is part of the "Imagine Buffalo Niagara in the 21st
Century" Downtown Library Noon-Hour 2010 - 2011 Lecture/Discussion
Series every 2nd & 4th Tuesday sponsored by The Center for the
