2010 - 2011 Downtown Library Noon-Hour Lecture/Discussion Series
"Imagine Buffalo-Chautauqua in the 21st Century"

Presented by: R. Andrew Nixon
Ex. Dir., Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau
April 12, 2011

R. Andrew Nixon, Executive Director, Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau summarized some things NOT to do as he reflected on his 20 years of experience as executive director. Trying to distinguish your community's unique brand that separates you from other communities, is presented as the challenge for every community. Using catch phrases that everyone else uses is not helpful.

Chautauqua County began a program in 2010 to call itself "The World's Learning Center." This identity is designed to invite all organizations that serve the public to link their promotion of their activities as a learning experience. A central Web site of all activities is available for all county participants to list their particular lifelong learning activities.

This presentation is part of the "Imagine Buffalo Niagara in the 21st Century" Downtown Library Noon-Hour 2010 - 2011 Lecture/Discussion Series every 2nd Tuesday sponsored by The Center for the Study of Art, Architecture, History & Nature (C-SAAHN).
