Sherman Skinner 1818-1897. Married Deborah Dusenbury in 1839. Moved to Buffalo in 1834. Founded Jewett & Root and then Sherman S. Jewett & Co. in 1878, manufacturing stoves.
John Cotton 1820-1904. Married Priscilla Boardman in 1843. Moved to Buffalo in 1849. Founded C. Jewett Manufacturing Company in 1849. See Memorial and Family History of Erie County, New York
