Designed with his brother, architect William Winthrop Kent
Moorish-Style.
In 1889 Kent was commissioned to design this unique Byzantine synagogue, complete
with a copper dome and Medina brownstone masonry. This second synagogue building
for congregation Beth Zion was dedicated September 12, 1890. Classroom buildings
were added in 1912.
