Temple Beth Zion Delaware Avenue DESTROYED BY FIRE October 4, 1961 Designed with his brother, architect William Winthrop Kent Moorish-Style. In 1889 Kent was commissioned to design this unique Byzantine synagogue, complete with a copper dome and Medina brownstone masonry. This second synagogue building for congregation Beth Zion was dedicated September 12, 1890. Classroom buildings were added in 1912. Illustration from National Museum of American Jewish History
